Dean Edmund Generali is pleased to announce that the first ever Sacred Heart Middle School graduation took place virtually on Tuesday, June 9th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church followed by a curbside diploma pick-up on Wednesday, June 10 th. Diplomas were presented to the Class of 2020 by Reverend Robert Lavorgna, pastor of Mary Mother of the Church, Dean Generali, President, Mrs. Eileen M. Regan, and Principal, Mr. Anthony R. Azzara. The faculty and staff of the Middle School were also in attendance to congratulate the Class of 2020.
The first ever 8th grade graduation of Sacred Heart Middle School will air, via YouTube, beginning at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 9th. We event our entire Sacred Heart Middle School family to celebrate this momentous occasion with us. The link for the video will become available later today.
At this time, due to continued State of CT protocols with Social Distancing and policies directed by the Diocese of Hartford, we regret that we will have to cancel this year’s Sacred Heart Golf Classic on June 16th, our Evening with Friends Wine and Beer tasting/dinner on June 25th and the Class of 1970 Golden Diploma. We were so looking forward to seeing our Sacred Heart family so please save the following dates for next year’s fun events and we look forward to you joining us! By recognizing a $1500.00 grant received from the Margaret M. Generali Foundation, Sacred Heart Middle School celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m. with a “Book Tasting”. Mrs. Gallo, the eighth-grade teacher at Sacred Heart Middle School, was awarded the grant to initiate a “Book Tasting” program at the school. Sacred Heart Middle School used the grant to purchase a wide variety of books for all three grade levels and kicked off the program with a visit from Mayor Neil O’Leary, members of the Margaret M. Generali Foundation, school administrators, and parents. During the “Book Tasting”, students moved from table to table for each “course” in the classroom setting to evaluate and rate different books on display.
