Sacred Heart Middle School will begin classes on Tuesday, September 8th! We have re-visited the school supplies policy in light of Covid. The school has secured cleaning supplies, enough art supplies so every student has their own art box, reading assignments books, along with notebooks for everyone. We feel the less extraneous materials brought into school right now the better. Of course students will have their own pens and pencils, face masks and backpacks, which should be sufficient. When the pandemic temporarily closed schools in the state, Sacred Heart Middle and High Schools were the first schools in the area to shift to an online live classroom learning experience that continued the strong academic experience that the Greater Waterbury community has come to expect from these schools. Because of our dedicated staff and administration, students were able to continue to interact with their teachers and their fellow classmates on a daily basis and advance their academic skills. Dean Edmund Generali is pleased to announce that the first ever Sacred Heart Middle School graduation took place virtually on Tuesday, June 9th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church followed by a curbside diploma pick-up on Wednesday, June 10 th. Diplomas were presented to the Class of 2020 by Reverend Robert Lavorgna, pastor of Mary Mother of the Church, Dean Generali, President, Mrs. Eileen M. Regan, and Principal, Mr. Anthony R. Azzara. The faculty and staff of the Middle School were also in attendance to congratulate the Class of 2020.
