We hope this letter finds you all healthy and well and that you and your family have had a chance to enjoy the summer in spite of these truly unprecedented times. Please know how grateful we are to each of you for your voice and your commitment to our Return to School Plan. We know how difficult it has been these last several months. Thank you for your patience and support!!
As you know over the last several months, a committee of volunteers, including Board Members, Teachers, Alumni, Parents, and our Administrative team have been hard at work, preparing our plan to welcome you, and the members of the Sacred Heart family, back in the fall.
The start of the 2020-2021 school year has been changed. For planning purposes, our first day for students will be Tuesday, September 8th. On Sunday, August 30th we will be holding informational sessions by class in the gym beginning at 1:30 p.m. for 6th grade students and parent(s). The 7th grade session for students and parent(s) will begin at 2:45 and the 8th grade session for students and parent(s) will begin at 4:00 p.m. At those meetings, we will review our Covid safety protocols, scheduling, and other related discussion points. Social distancing protocols will be in place and masks must be worn. We also ask that you limit the attendance to student and parent(s). To enter the gym, please use the entrance at the corner of South Elm Street by the flag pole.
Please note: Students who have chosen remote learning will receive their books and class schedules at these meetings. If there are students in need of a Chromebook, please email me by Wednesday, August 26th and we will have one ready to loan you on the 30th. Families who are unable to attend in-person may remote in for the meeting. If you are planning to attend remotely, please email Ms. DiCarlo at: firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Instructions on accessing the meeting remotely will be sent to you. Also, if families are attending the meeting remotely and their child is attending school remotely, you will need to make arrangements to pick up the student’s books before the first day of school. All other students will receive books on the first day of school.
Thank you in advance for your continuing support of Sacred Heart Middle School. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back! May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to bless you and your family.
